Most Expensive Mega Evolution Cards
Every card from the Mega Evolution series, English and Japanese, ranked by what it sells for. The top 25 English cards with scans, the top 15 Japanese, the dearest version of every Mega ex, and the most expensive card in each set.
The English Mega Evolution series began in September 2025 and has put out seven sets so far, from Mega Evolution itself to 30th Celebration, with Japanese sets usually about two months ahead. Mega ex cards are the headline of almost every one of them, and their Special Illustration Rares and gold Mega Hyper Rares are where the money is. This page ranks all 1,138 priced English cards and 1,173 Japanese ones, most expensive first.
The short answer: the most expensive English Mega Evolution card is RGB Mew G/RGB (RGB Rare, 30th Celebration) at $3,574.75. The most expensive Mega ex card is Mega Gengar ex 284/217 (Special Illustration Rare, Ascended Heroes) at $866.33. In Japanese, Mega Rayquaza ex 113/076 from Storm Emeralda leads at $945.56. Every price is the TCGplayer market price for a raw near-mint copy on 26 September 2026, with pounds alongside.
The 10 Most Expensive English Mega Evolution Cards
Ascended Heroes has 10 of the top 25 on its own. Most of the rest are the Special Illustration Rares and Mega Hyper Rares of the main sets. Each card below has its market price, the set it came from, who drew it and, for Mega ex cards, what the Japanese version sells for.

RGB Rare from 30th Celebration, illustrated by YOSHIROTTEN. The Most Expensive Promos
The Mega Evolution Black Star Promos are ranked separately. Many of the dearest never came out of a product: the Ace Trainer card is the Play! The most expensive promo that came in a product is Pikachu ex 109 (30th Celebration) at $299.99.

Coming Next: Delta Reign and Aura Seeker
Delta Reign (English, 6 November 2026) is the English version of Storm Emeralda. English singles have no real sales yet, so they are not ranked here, but the Japanese cards are a guide. Storm Emeralda’s Mega Rayquaza ex Mega Ultra Rare sells for $945.56 and its Special Art Rare for $348.11. On those numbers the English Mega Rayquaza ex chase cards are likely to rank among the most expensive English cards once they have real sales.
Aura Seeker (Japanese, 27 November 2026) is led by Mega Lucario Z ex, one of the new Z Mega Evolutions, and MEGA x MEGA Parade follows in Japan on 19 February 2027. Both will be added once they have market prices.

Methodology
Prices are TCGplayer market prices for near-mint raw singles in US dollars, from TCGplayer’s public daily data on 26 September 2026, with pounds at 0.7551. Japanese prices are TCGplayer’s market prices for Japanese cards. Graded cards are not included. TCGplayer lists holo, reverse holo and pattern versions (Poké Ball, Master Ball and the like) separately; each card number is counted once, at its dearest version. The ranking covers every Mega Evolution series booster set, including Ascended Heroes and 30th Celebration, plus the secret cards from the Japanese Start Deck 100 Battle Collection. It leaves out the Classic Collection reprints in 30th Celebration and basic Energy. Promos have their own section and are included in the Mega ex table. Illustrator credits come from TCGdex.
