About the Series
The MEP Black Star Promos are the promo series of the Mega Evolution era. It is the current series, and it is still growing.
It keeps the Scarlet & Violet-era format: a plain three-digit number with no letter prefix.
Most MEP promos come in products. Each main expansion adds four Build & Battle Box promos, plus promos in its blisters and Elite Trainer Box, and collection boxes and tins add the rest. MEP 037 to 063 are the three First Partner Illustration Collections, and 094 to 110 came with the 30th Celebration products. MEP 092 Paradise Resort was in the 2026 World Championships competitor kit and 093 Pikachu was given out at Worlds 2026 celebration events. MEP 028 and 120 are Celebratory Fanfare Ace Trainer cards, the Play! Pokémon Championship Points rewards for 2025 and 2026.
The newest are the Delta Reign promos: Masquerain, Magmortar, Enamorus and Kommo-o (MEP 111 to 114) from the Build & Battle Box, Spritzee (115) from the single-pack blister, Seel (116) from the three-pack blister and Kyogre (117) from the Elite Trainer Box. Spritzee and Seel are shown from the official blister photos until card scans are out, so a coin covers part of Spritzee. MEP 118 and 119 have not been revealed.
Numbering & Identification
Numbers are three digits with leading zeros, starting at 001.
Every Black Star Promo carries a black star where an expansion symbol would normally sit. That mark is what gives the series its name.
How to identify one: the black star contains a three-digit number with no letter prefix. Mega Evolution-era cards also carry the era's card frame.
