The Classic Collection is a 30-card run of reprints inside 30th Celebration. The cards are not part of the numbered main set and are not tournament legal.
Where the cards come from
Classic Collection cards are not in ordinary 30th Celebration packs. The sealed source is the Ultra-Premium Collection — Day & Night, which contains 29 regular booster packs and one Classic Collection pack, and releases on 6 November 2026, seven weeks after the main set. That is why interest in these cards keeps running after the 16 September launch.
The 30 cards
In the order they appear on the official reveal, with the set each reprint is taken from. The images below show each card’s original printing. Seven of the 30th Celebration reprints have been imaged so far: Base Set Pikachu (136/103), illustrated by Mitsuhiro Arita, Base Set Charizard (137/103), Pikachu & Zekrom-GX (160/103), which was shown in play on the official Japanese channel on 23 August 2026, Dark Tyranitar (144/103), illustrated by Nakaoka, Magikarp (165/103), illustrated by Shinji Kanda, Mew VMAX (163/103), illustrated by 5ban Graphics, and "Crystal" Lugia, which is numbered 142/103 on the Traditional Chinese card but keeps its original Aquapolis number, 149/147, in English. Those seven also line up with the order below. Pikachu is first here and numbered 136, Charizard second and 137, “Crystal” Lugia seventh and 142, Dark Tyranitar ninth and 144, Pikachu & Zekrom-GX twenty-fifth and 160, Mew VMAX twenty-eighth and 163, and Magikarp thirtieth and 165. Seven matches with no gaps would put the whole Classic Collection at 136–165, in this order. That is read off the cards that have been imaged rather than published by The Pokémon Company, so the numbers for the other 23 are not settled.

What the 30 cards cover
The run spans the whole history of the game, from Base Set through to a Paldea Evolved Illustration Rare. Nine of the 30 come from the era before 2010.
Two of the slots are the two halves of a single LEGEND card, Darkrai & Cresselia from HS Triumphant, which is assembled from a top and a bottom card.

No. They are reprints outside the numbered main set.
How many cards are in the Classic Collection?
Thirty. Two of them are the top and bottom halves of one LEGEND card.

Not formally. Two cards were confirmed by The Pokémon Company and the other 28 were identified from the official Japanese site’s reveal animation. This page is dated so you can see how current that is.
