About the Set

EX Unseen Forces brought the focus back to the Johto Pokémon. Its twelve Pokémon-ex include Lugia ex and Ho-Oh ex, and the three legendary beasts — Entei, Raikou and Suicune — appear as Gold Star cards with the shiny alternate-colour finish. Two secret rares, Rocket’s Persian ex and Celebi ex, sit beyond the numbered set. The set also contains a 28-card Unown collection: lettered cards, each an Unown, that spell out messages when arranged.

How to identify it: numbered cards read N/115. The three Gold Star beasts are cards 113–115 and carry a gold ★ by the name. The two secret rares are numbered 116/115 and 117/115, above the total. The Unown collection cards are lettered (A–Z, ‘!’ and ‘?’) rather than numbered in the main run, and are shown after the numbered set in the gallery.

Pokémon-ex, Gold Star & Secret Rares

EX Unseen Forces had a single Unlimited print run. Several tiers of chase card sit above the commons and uncommons.

Collecting & Where to Buy

EX Unseen Forces is out of print and trades on the secondary market. Common singles are inexpensive, while the three Gold Star beasts, the twelve Pokémon-ex and the Celebi ex secret rare carry the strongest premiums.

Collector tip: the Gold Star beasts (113–115) are the top pulls — look for the gold ★ and shiny colouring, and check the holo for wear.
