Shrouded Fable set overview

Scarlet & Violet—Shrouded Fable is the third special set of the Scarlet & Violet series, after 151 and Paldean Fates. It went on sale on 2 August 2024 and was playable in Pokémon TCG Live on launch day. It has 99 cards: a 64-card main list and 35 secret rares numbered 065/064 to 099/064. The set code is SFA. The Pokémon and Trainer cards carry regulation mark H, except the gold Earthen Vessel (096/064), a reprint that keeps its G mark and is no longer legal in Standard. There was no booster box; the packs came in Elite Trainer Boxes, collections, mini tins, a blister and Booster Bundles.

The set is built around Pecharunt, the Mythical Pokémon from the Mochi Mayhem epilogue of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, the Scarlet and Violet DLC. It makes its card debut as Pecharunt ex. Its Subjugating Chains Ability lets you switch one of your Benched Darkness Pokémon into the Active Spot once a turn, and that Pokémon is then Poisoned. Its followers, the Loyal Three, return as Pokémon ex after their first, non-ex cards in Twilight Masquerade: Okidogi ex, Munkidori ex and Fezandipiti ex. Kingdra ex and a Lightning Tera Revavroom ex are the other Pokémon ex.

The rest of the set has a shady, after-dark theme. Ghost- and Dark-type Pokémon from the games, such as the Duskull line, Houndoom and Zoroark, sit beside Supporters for villains and tricksters: Colress of Team Plasma, Xerosic of Team Flare, the ninja Janine, and Cassiopeia, the alias Penny uses as the leader of Team Star. There are three ACE SPEC cards, including Neutralization Zone, the first ACE SPEC Stadium. The English set adapts the Japanese Night Wanderer and adds five cards to it; the changes are listed below.

What changed from Night Wanderer

• Same main list: all 64 Night Wanderer main cards are here, with the Pokémon in the same order. Only the 11 Trainers moved, because the English list sorts them alphabetically, from Academy at Night (054/064) to Xerosic's Machinations (064/064).
• Added from Mask of Change: Illustration Rares of Munkidori (072/064), Fezandipiti (073/064) and Okidogi (074/064). In Japan they are art rares in Mask of Change, but the English Twilight Masquerade, which adapted that set, left them out.
• Added gold Energy: Basic Darkness Energy (098/064) and Basic Metal Energy (099/064) as Hyper Rares. Night Wanderer has no Energy cards.
• Renumbered secret rares: the three new Illustration Rares push every later secret rare up three places. The Persian art rare, 075 in Japan, is Persian (078/064) in English.
• Nothing left out: every Night Wanderer card is in the English set, so the count is 35 secret rares against 30.

Shrouded Fable chase cards

The six cards below are the most expensive singles in the set by market price on 9 October 2026. The most expensive of all on that date was Persian (078/064, Illustration Rare). The set has 15 Illustration Rares, and The Pokémon Company's own expansion page picked out three of them as night scenes: Persian (078/064) by Whisker, looking out over city lights; Houndoom (066/064) by Taiga Kasai, a pack on a night hunt; and Zorua (075/064) by REND, resting on a moonlit rooftop. The Pokémon ex Special Illustration Rares are all by kantaro: Okidogi ex (090/064), Munkidori ex (091/064), Fezandipiti ex (092/064) and Pecharunt ex (093/064). Every card in the set is below in set-number order, with its rarity, illustrator and market price. The main list runs from Joltik (001/064) to Xerosic's Machinations (064/064): 53 Pokémon, then 11 Trainers in alphabetical order, among them the three ACE SPEC cards Dangerous Laser, Neutralization Zone and Poké Vital A. The secret rares start at 065/064: 15 Illustration Rares, 10 Ultra Rares, five Special Illustration Rares and five gold Hyper Rares. Prices for the Common to Rare cards are for the standard print. Their parallel foil (reverse holo) versions are priced separately on TCGplayer and can sell for more. Shrouded Fable illustrators

69 illustrators are credited across the 99 cards, and kantaro and 5ban Graphics have the most credits, with four each. Besides kantaro's four Pokémon ex Special Illustration Rares, the official expansion page highlights a three-card story by James Turner: Duskull (068/064), Dusclops (069/064) and Dusknoir (070/064), drawn in a minimalist style with plain backgrounds. The regular Okidogi ex, Munkidori ex and Fezandipiti ex are by takuyoa. Every Pecharunt ex that is not the Special Illustration Rare is by aky CG Works: the Double Rare, the Ultra Rare and the gold Hyper Rare. The three Illustration Rares added from Mask of Change are by Teeziro (Munkidori), Keiichiro Ito (Fezandipiti) and Akira Egawa (Okidogi). Each tile leads with the artist's highest-value card in the set; the name links to their entry in the illustrator database.

Shrouded Fable adapts Night Wanderer (ナイトワンダラー), a Japanese enhanced expansion pack released on 7 June 2024 with 94 cards: 64 main cards and 30 secret rares. It was the sixth Japanese subset of the Scarlet & Violet era, its packs held five cards, and a Traditional Chinese edition followed on 21 June 2024. Japanese secret rares use the AR, SR, SAR and UR labels, where the English set uses IR, UR, SIR and HR. Night Wanderer has 12 art rares, ten super rares, five special art rares and three gold UR cards: Pecharunt ex, Earthen Vessel and Powerglass.

Shrouded Fable products and sealed prices

Shrouded Fable launched on 2 August 2024 with the Elite Trainer Box, three illustration collections, the mini tins and a three-pack blister. The Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box followed on 23 August, sold only by Pokémon Center in the US, Canada, the UK, Australia and New Zealand, and the Booster Bundle on 6 September 2024. Both Elite Trainer Boxes hold an illustration rare-style Pecharunt promo (SVP 129); the Pokémon Center version adds two packs and a second copy with the Pokémon Center logo. The Kingdra ex, Greninja ex and Kingambit collections each have a promo drawn in a ukiyo-e woodblock style, with two foil cards of the Pokémon's earlier stages. The blister's promo is a foil Pecharunt (SVP 149). Sealed prices are market prices from the same snapshot as the singles.
