Series Overview
POP Series 9 is the ninth set of the Pokémon Organized Play programme, released in March 2009 during the Platinum Series. POP sets were not sold in booster packs — they were handed out through organized play events.

About the Series
POP Series 9 is the ninth and final set of the Pokémon Organized Play programme, released during the Platinum era. No POP set followed it.
Every card in the set is a Pokémon.
POP sets were handed out through Pokémon Organized Play, the tournament and league programme now called Play! Pokémon. They came in packs of two cards rather than standard boosters.
Numbering & Identification
Cards are numbered 1/17 to 17/17. Each POP set numbers its own cards, so the same number appears in all nine sets — a card reading 5/17 could belong to any of them. The series is identified by the artwork and the set listing, not by the number.
Every Black Star Promo carries a black star where an expansion symbol would normally sit. That mark is what gives the series its name.
How to identify one: POP Series cards carry the round Pokémon Organized Play logo rather than a black star, and read N/17.
