About the Series
The DP Black Star Promos cover the Diamond & Pearl era. This is the first Black Star Promo series to prefix its numbers with the era code.
It carries a large run of Pokémon LV.X cards, the Diamond & Pearl-era mechanic that sits on top of an existing Pokémon rather than evolving from it.
Numbering & Identification
Numbers run DP01 to DP56 and are printed with the DP prefix on the card, which keeps them distinct from the numbered Diamond & Pearl expansions.
Every Black Star Promo carries a black star where an expansion symbol would normally sit. That mark is what gives the series its name.
How to identify one: the black star contains a DP-prefixed number. There is no set symbol and no denominator.
