About the Series

POP Series 5 contains two Gold Star cards, Espeon ☆ at 16/17 and Umbreon ☆ at 17/17. They are the only Gold Star cards in the nine-set POP programme.

It is also the POP set with the most delta species cards, at seven, and carries three Energy cards including δ Rainbow Energy.

POP sets were handed out through Pokémon Organized Play, the tournament and league programme now called Play! Pokémon. They came in packs of two cards rather than standard boosters.

Numbering & Identification

Cards are numbered 1/17 to 17/17. Each POP set numbers its own cards, so the same number appears in all nine sets — a card reading 5/17 could belong to any of them. The series is identified by the artwork and the set listing, not by the number.

Every Black Star Promo carries a black star where an expansion symbol would normally sit. That mark is what gives the series its name.

How to identify one: POP Series cards carry the round Pokémon Organized Play logo rather than a black star, and read N/17.
