Set Overview
EX Dragon was the third EX Series set, released in November 2003. As the name suggests it leaned on dragon Pokémon — headlined by Rayquaza ex and the Latias/Latios duo — and hid a three-card “secret” Charizard evolution line numbered beyond the printed total.

About the Set
EX Dragon built the set around a dragon theme, with nine Pokémon-ex — Rayquaza ex, Dragonite ex, Kingdra ex and the Latias/Latios pair among them. Beyond the printed total of 97 sit three secret rares: a full Charmander → Charmeleon → Charizard line numbered 98–100, with the Charizard the set’s biggest chase.
How to identify it: EX Dragon cards read N/97. The three secret rares are numbered 98/97, 99/97 and 100/97, above the set total. Pokémon-ex carry the silver holo border and the “ex” suffix.
Pokémon-ex & Secret Rares
EX Dragon had a single Unlimited print run. The cards that matter to collectors are the nine Pokémon-ex and the three secret-rare Charizard-line cards numbered past the total.
| Type | What it means |
|---|---|
| Pokémon-ex (89–97) | The nine silver-bordered ex cards — the set’s ultra rares, worth two prizes when knocked out. |
| Secret rares (98–100) | A Charmander, Charmeleon and Charizard numbered beyond 97 — the hidden chase line of the set. |
| Reverse holo | Parallel foil versions of commons, uncommons and rares, with the shimmer across the whole card body. |
Note: the gallery below covers all 100 cards, including the three secret rares (98–100). A number above 97 — such as 100/97 — marks a secret rare.

Collecting & Where to Buy
EX Dragon is out of print and trades on the secondary market. Most singles are inexpensive, but the secret-rare Charizard 100/97 is a major chase card, and the nine Pokémon-ex — Rayquaza ex especially — hold strong value in high grade.
Collector tip: the value here is the secret-rare Charizard 100/97 and the Pokémon-ex — confirm the 100/97 numbering on the Charizard and check the ex holo borders for wear.
